The Perfect Bath

Posted On: 3rd Feb 2012

The Perfect Bath section

This February It's cold, so very cold! What a great way to boost morale and keep warm by having a long warm deep bath. Let us tell you how to experience the ‘perfect Heyland & Whittle Bath’, all you need are three things.

First, you need to make time for a heavenly soak. Perhaps an hour, if you can spoil yourself push it to an hour and a half but no more otherwise you will get cold and you may shrink!

Second, we would recommend using three products from the Heyland & Whittle range, Dead Sea Bath Salts, Luxury Foam Bath and our Luxury Bath and Massage oil. We would recommend to use the same fragrance for all three products, mixing scents may spoil your experience. Why not try Neroli & Rose...

Thirdly, make sure you have plenty of hot water, you will need to top up the bath from time to time.

With all this in place the first step is to pop the plug in the bath and turn on your iPod or CD player and adjust the volume to the right level. Listen to either your favorite composer or classical artist, some of these relaxation CD’s have got a lot better and might be worth revisiting too.

So much importance is put upon the temperature of the water. We think it is really simple, no rocket science here, no thermometer needed and certainly no hard and fast rule, it’s simple, the temperature should suit you, not you suiting  the suggested temperature. No point  in forcing yourself to like a temperature that someone has plucked out of the air. It is the worst trying to relax and enjoy a bath when the water may be too hot or too cold. Choose what you like, your body knows best.

Some might quite enjoy the temperature to be slightly too hot at first so you  slowly get into the bath letting your body adjust to the high temperature. Others might prefer to get into the bath water when it is the same as their body and skin temperature. Then slowly heating up the bath by adding hot water and draining some of the bath water level at the same time. The choice is yours.

Whilst the water is filling the bath it is important to add the Foam Bath where the tap water fills the bath, this will properly mix the foam  into the water and it will begin to froth a lot faster. Followed quickly by adding the Dead Sea Bath Salts, you will need to add around two table spoons of salt (a golf ball size) and let it dissolve. Continue to fill the bath until it is at the right level for you. The sea salts will soften the water and the foam will generate a lovely soapy aroma.

Whilst immersed into your deep adysis that is your heavenly bath, the last thing for you to do is to add one tablespoon of bath oil half way through your bathing experience. This will intensify the aromas and begin to moisturise your skin. Relax and enjoy, make sure you repeat the process  very soon!

Next time you might want to add a candle. Why not spoil yourself right now and try the Neroli & Rose scent in all four products; Bath oil, Bath salt, Bath Foam and a candle. A really relaxing and sensual experience!

We would love to hear your bathing experiences and what you love to do with that hour long soak. Let us know….we can add more to this best bath experience  by sharing views….
